The scared black bear

hibernates in the warmth of

virgin caves

I feel isolated

stalk him from far away

I wish the snow

melts but

I am scared

of warmth

of light

of you

of me

cold comforts me

darkness is what I know

from my mother’s womb. I

look around

inch by inch

the snowman smiles

I light a fire

sit by his side

and he melts, drop by drop

tortured by my grief

he dies.
