A bride, a trickster and naked rain

                   Sun-rain and mushroom rain hurricane.

I want to see a rainbow and maybe ghost rain

But in Italy the cat is making love again.

Chickens outside paralysed of glittering rain

And the tricksy fox ate them plain.

I am just standing  drenched in blind rain

Chasing the VIBGYOR in raindrops on windowpane.

A lying sun standing proud in shadow rain

The devil beating his wife unrestrained.

Liquid sunshine, Jon sunshowers

Maybe it’s just all devil’s fair, that afternoon rain.

Sunshower by NATALIE SHAPERO

(A sun shower is a meteorological phenomenon in which rain falls while the sun is shining. The phenomenon has a wide range of remarkable folkloric names in cultures around the world. A common theme is that of clever animals and tricksters getting married or related to the devil.

Like In Italy they say “Piove e c’è il sole, la gatta fa l’amore” which means “It rains with the sun, the (female) cat is making love. In Hungary a sunshower is said to show that “the devil is beating his wife” because he is angry God created a beautiful day. The rain is said to be his wife’s tears. And so on.)
