Smoke & Mirrors is the third book from internationally bestselling poet Michael Faudet, author of Bitter Sweet Love and Dirty Pretty Things—both finalists in the 2016 and 2015 Goodreads Readers Choice Awards.
This was the first book that I have read of Michael Faudet. I have always loved poetry so this book was a must read for me.
Paperback: 240 pages

Amazing, average and at times spellbinding!
Such is a way I would describe this book. When you start the book with “Anticipation” your expectations run high. But after reading few pages you skip to reach for the good reads. And I will tell you your expectations are then again exceeded. You are left spellbound, enthralled with the beauty of the way in which words are weaved. And you are amazed beyond expectations but then again you hit a low. Overall the book is a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows. Some like “ A Morning in Paris”, “True Love Waits”, “The Missing Socks” etc. were definitely the highs that left you agape thinking how can the same author write these and other pieces that never met your expectations. Those pieces are not bad, It’s just that your expectations reach heaven and you expect sunshine wrapped in each poem.
Overall a good book. I might go back to the book for another read of marked pages that I loved the best.
